ORPHAN Foundation creates spaces that give an enlightened sense of spirituality, wellness, and a new regained sense of confidence and healing. We also serve the children who have been affected by the stress of war and facing the challenges of reacclimating with the parent who has served. ORPHAN Foundation will lift their spirit and boost their morale by creating a beautiful space for them. We make their dwelling their haven.
ORPHAN Foundation’s Current Projects:
Decorating Deployment’s sole purpose is to help wounded veterans re-acclimate to civilian life. We accomplish this by professionally decorating and re-purposing rooms in their homes. This provides not only comfort and eases stress, but also makes home life more effortless and accessible through structural changes to accommodate for physical disabilities. We honor the children of these brave individuals by creating a space of calm and peace for them as well.
In the decade following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, 2,333,972 American military personnel had been deployed to Iraq and/or Afghanistan. According to the Defense Manpower Data Center, nearly half (977,542) of those who served in these wars have been deployed more than once. There are now more than 1,286 military personnel who are amputees as a result of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Estimates of 25%-30% increase in our military personnel with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are looming as a result of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. And let’s not mention the toll war and separation have taken on the families (especially spouses and children) and support systems of these brave men and women.
The need to be helped by these populations is substantial. The ORPHAN Foundation creates calming home environments that help to allay depression and anxiety, as well as relieve accessibility challenges. By way of the Decorating Deployment program, we would like to thank our military personnel who risked their lives for our freedom. By partnering with volunteers from the community, local consignment shops interior designer, design enthusiast, and companies that provide building material (i.e., paint, hardware, etc.) ORPHAN Foundation has redesigned rooms in the homes of many of our returning heroes.
To continue the success of this program, there is an ongoing need for volunteers to help re-design a special room for a veteran. To contribute material goods, such as furniture, paint, home decor items, etc., as well as your time and talent, or to make a monetary donation visit our “PHAN Club” page.
